Once registered, Omaha Golf Network will flight and bracket you according to average score/handicap and geographical location. If you prefer to play your golf in an area away from your residence please let us know so we can bracket you accordingly.
The Omaha Golf Network will offer 3 seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall). You may sign up for 1 season at a time and can play in as many or as few seasons as possible. Our inaugural year (2007), we will be offering 2 seasons (Summer, Fall) and the Summer season will begin May 1. Each season's membership fee is $45. The OGN will give 5% of all proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
A week prior to the beginning of the season all player profile pages will be updated with the current season's schedule. From here members will be able to view their opponent's information to schedule matches.
Once your schedule has been produced you will have 10 weeks to complete 5 matches (1 match per 2 weeks). The match will be scheduled at a golf course agreed upon by both members plus you have the choice of a nine or 18 hole match which also must be agreed upon by both players. For every match there will be a designated home player, whom is required to fill in the scorecards of both players after the match on the AtlantaGolfLeague.com website. The OGN website will provide you with the scorecard from every metro Atlanta golf course including tees played and course rating.
As matches are played and scorecards are filled out your member profile page will be updated with your results and your statistics will be kept. For the first time ever you will have a website that will track how well you do on all par 3's, par 4's, par 5's, the total number of eOGNes, birdies, pars, and bogeys you have accumulated during match play.
Not only will you be able to view how well you are playing, but you will also be able to see how well you stack up against everyone else in your bracket and flight across the city with our leaderboard page. Here you will be able to see who is leading each of our statistical categories.
In addition to keeping track of your statistics, you will be awarded points for the outcome of the match. Below is a table showing how points will be rewarded.

On top of accumulating points from your matches you will also have an overall adjusted scoring average which is a unique Omaha Golf Network handicapping system. It is calculated by taking your score subtracting the course rating and then subtracting 4 from that if 18 holes were played and 2 if nine holes were played. Using the course rating to compile an adjusted scoring average puts players on an equal playing field even though players within a flight are playing different golf courses.
The purpose of your overall adjusted scoring average is to help determine who is eligible for the end of season tournament. The end of season tournament will be made up of all bracket points leaders and those with the adjusted scoring average low enough relative to the rest of their bracket.
Qualify for the end of season tournament by finishing in the top of your bracket. Bracket rankings are determined by points. If you do not finish at the top of your bracket, you will still have an opportunity to compete in the end of season tournament with a low adjusted scoring average.
To ensure that there all matches are competitive and played between members of similar ability OGN will have a rating system. The rating system is OGN's way of making sure you are in the proper flight. The rating is a calculation of points accrued and overall adjusted scoring average relative to your competition. After your first season, you will be flighted based on your previous season's rating.
